Siv Laurell

Originally I  come from the town Kristinehamn in Sweden, and I have resided on the countryside of Halmstad, located  on the Swedish West coast, since 1986.
I devote myself to art - painting in particular - besides working as art teacher. The Nordic landscape is my main inspiration, with its ever-changing light, weather conditions and seasons.
The open landscape, the forest, and the Scandinavian archipelago are some recurring subjects in my paintings.

The many possibilities of water colours are challenging, and the pigments keep fascinating me, pulling my work in new directions. Hard to master but yet so playful and fun.
Oil painting is gorgeous with its rich means of variation and the acrylics with its quick approach, fast drying and versatility, thin as water colour or thick as oil.
